The Beatles in the context of socialist Czechoslovakia in the radio documentary

The bachelor's thesis The Beatles in the Context of Socialist Czechoslovakia in the Radio Documentary is divided into two parts - practical and theoretical. The main practical part is focused on the impact of The Beatles on Czechoslovakian politics and culture. In the radio documentary, the author is trying to describe the atmosphere of the sixties. Therefore, the listeners can hear original Beatles songs as well as songs performed by Czechoslovakian interprets. Thanks to the comments of the singers and music publicists it is pointed out that The Beatles had a huge impact on Czechoslovakian society as, apart from the music itself, the band had a symbolic meaning creating a connection with the democratic world for the Czechoslovaks. The theoretical part of the thesis mainly deals with the definition of the radio documentary. It describes the particularities of radio broadcasting and it briefly mentions the history of radio broadcasting in Czechoslovakia. The creation of the radio documentary is also described in the practical part. It explains why the author decided to choose this topic and also the respondents and the choice of the target audience is clarified. Czechoslovak Beat Festivals (1967, 1968 and 1971) Under the Influence of British and American Musical Models

This thesis deals with Czechoslovak Beat Festivals which were held in the years 1967, 1968 and 1971. The work presents a musical atmosphere which prevailed in Czechoslovakia in the days of their birth and depicts the conditions in which our musicians built their first bands and started with their own music production. Emphasis is placed on Western musical models whose influence on Czechoslovak artists and authors is undeniable. The paper is processed using oral history on the basis of which interviews with co- organizers, journalists, musicians and spectators were recorded. Their findings and impressions are integrated into the information drawn from historical materials and literature. Therefore, they serve as a supplement to known information and bring a new and sometimes unexpected view of events nearly fifty years ago. Music as an Expression of the Lifestyle in the UK in 1960s. Contribution to the European Consumer Society after 1945.

This thesis focuses on the British music scene in the 1960s. Popular music was one of the main manifestations of consumerism and influenced the behavior of most young people. The aim of the thesis is to explain the extent in which popular music played a role in the establishment of a consumer society and, above all, the impact caused by interpreters and music groups on the lifestyle of their listeners and audiences.The thesis also examines how the British music developed in the Sixties and how it was characterized.The thesis is based on the assumption that the 1960s' is a key decade in the postwar history of modern society, a time when fundamental changes occurred in the value systems of most Western societies, notably the British. New generations of young people associated with economic prosperity surfaced at that time, fostering the development of the phenomenon of consumer society, thus changing people's lifestyles.The first part of the thesis is dedicated to economic and social assumptions of the development of the consumer society. The second part of the thesis addresses the social structure of the British society, focusing on the youth - arguably, the social extract that was most appealed by popular music. The core part of the thesis analyses the British music scene in the 1960s, with focus on the music groups and also the music industry and its impal on the lifestyle of youth.
